I have been excited to discover John on Twitter recently, and I have
encouraged him to find more OST folks who are already twittering. So, thanks
for this initiative, John. I have been twittering up to 2-3 hours a day for
the last 3 months in order to learn more about this fascinating platform
which will become a standard communication tool such as SMS, telephone,
email etc. (if you don’t believe me, check again in a year’s time– didn’t
you say 12 years ago that you would never buy a mobile phone, or 15 years
ago, that you don’t need a website?). If you want to know more about the
what and why of Twitter, you can check in my blog at
http://www.change-management-blog.com where I have written a couple of
postings on Twitter and other social media. My Twitter ID is @hnauheimer
<http://twitter.com/hnauheimer> . I twitter about change management (of
course!), job opportunities, Web 2.0 and I keep in touch with friends around
the world. So, please say hello when you follow, I promise to respond. From
tomorrow onwards, I will be in San Francisco for the annual Web 2.0 Expo and
of course I will be blogging and twittering live from there. Anybody in the
Bay area who’s up for a beer?

As I have reported before, I have also used Twitter and other social media
as tools to prepare and document workshops and to create sustainable
communities. Some or you might remember my reports from Thailand earlier
this year. The community (based on Ning) that we created back then, is very
alive and growing. Here is an opportunity to increase the sustainability of
initiatives that emerge during an OST, as long as there is passion and
responsibility. But it also the people who are on this journey: what I love
about the Web 2.0 community is their closeness to Open Space principles and
values – come from abundance, you are what you share.

Here is an invitation to a big Twitter event, in which we want to apply the
Open Space and World Café principles – having meaningful conversations
around the globe and go where our passion is: On May 9, I am hosting the
(hopefully) largest Real Time Virtual Cooperation Workshop, using Twitter
but also other tools and we might even talk to each other on Skype in small
groups.

Our topic will be:
What tools and what principles do we need to help change to unfold? Social
and technological development as means for better organizations, and a
better world.

During the Real Time Virtual Collaboration Workshop, the Change Management
Toolbook website will be the central place where the agenda will be created
and from which participants will disperse into smaller groups. The breakout
rooms will be all over the web. Also, the website will be the place for
documentation. Please register here:
http://www.change-management-toolbook.com/course/view.php?id=115 and
please spread the word. You don’t need to be a techie to participate.

For those of you who are just making their first steps into the world of
social media, here is another offer: Starting April 30, I am hosting a four
modules webinar series on the topic Web 2.0 for Business. We have prepared a
20 minutes free video presentation which serves as the introduction to the
topic. Have a look at the video at:

 <http://www.change-management-toolbook.com/blog/index.php?postid=79>
http://www.change-management-toolbook.com/blog/index.php?postid=79

In this beginners' webinar series, you will learn how to use all the new
social media that have now matured for the benefit of your business and for
that of your clients. We will talk about blogging, Wikis, online
communities, Twitter and much more. All very practice oriented and
interactive.

I am looking forward to meeting you all in the real and in the virtual
world.

Holger
