I suppose that I am guilty for this Bye bye from Harrison:
As you all can see in the OSLIST Archives, on Mon, 16 Jun 2008, I sent a
message to the list with the subject "OST becoming mainstream (was: Opening
Space at Microsoft PDC)", where I mencioned that the entry for OST in the
Wikipedia was nonsense and should be corrected and suggested that Harrison
could do that himself, which he did some days after that date.
Later, the entry has been modified by others (but the old version is
probably still in the wiki history).
Still later, Wikipedia decided to become a more "Rigorous Enciclopedia" (in
the limited sense many Universities give to "rigour" against "relevance").
So, I understand he his tired of the Wikipedia discussion (but don't
understand he is also tired of trying other tools that are real improvements
- the NING being one of them...)
So, if there is now a group interested in revising the wikipedia entries for
OS, OST, etc., I suggest that they first locate that definition from
Harrison, then explain in the "backdoor" wiki the reason to do that, and try
to discuss and gain that discussion.
Later it will be needed to check those entries regularly and repost the good
entries, when they are changed by the many people in the world that think
they are OST facilitators or even experts, because they have red "the book".
Just my two Euro cents
Artur
