Facilitation disasters - your stories please

I can't recall ever having a "formal contract" about all that, but it
probably wouldn't hurt. Then again, anybody who would make me so nervous
that I might think that I need a formal contract I doubt we would be in
conversation in the first place. And in any event I don't do it as a threat
but rather as a promise and an opportunity. Something like, "With these
great people we have a marvelous opportunity to open up for some fantastic
new ideas. And I promise to keep it that way!" Or something -- I don't think
anybody has ever missed my meaning.

robyn,

thanks much for the story.

harrison, i'm curious and just to clarify: is that something you make
directly explicit to the client- like in the form of a verbal agreement or
written contract: that you reserve the right to exercise the law of the two
feet if the sponsor prevents you from letting the whole group be your client
once the OST meeting is underway?

warmly,
raffi
