Begining in OS

Dear all
Many thanks for your responses to my post.
Especially to Harrison for his reassuring words (esp. it's mainstream now) -
I'd hate to be thought of too left of field :-).
Also to Catherine for her tip (I find occasions for OS every day, simply by
reading the newspaper). I will start to build my plan around the excuse this
gives me to read the paper.
I understand the completion issues that Jack mentions, although I am
surprised (and pleased since it implies a healthy market) that this is felt
to be so intense for OS. I still try to follow the principal of abundance by
which we are enriched by working together rather than impoverished by
competing.
Thanks for the book reference Michael. I have read Capra and like his work,
I have ordered your suggestion from Amazon - I will have difficulty getting
to Tai Wan but I would be interested if there are any training courses in
the UK coming up.
And Shikha - thanks - you definitely didn't bore me.
I will take your thoughts and apply them.
Best regards
David

Hi--
NCDD has created a playlist on YouTube of Dialogue and Deliberation
videos.
That might be a good idea for OS videos.
I am willing to learn how to create such a list if you are willing to
help collect the links to the videos (and maybe hold my hand as I learn
how to do this!).
Anybody want to play?
:- Doug.

Christy--
Wow! You have left me saying Wow!
What an evocative notion--the space is alive. Is this true? Can we make
it so? Can we at least meet it so?
There are excerpts of Alexander's 4th book here:
http://books.google.com/books?id=6CIHB3_1tLMC&printsec=frontcover&dq=christopher+alexander+nature+of+order#PPA1,M1
I have found his writing evocative as well. His books are huge, and sell
by the pound. Now I have to mortgage my house to get these books....
What do you suppose might be the recursive structures built up in open
space?
Harrison said that it takes a lifetime to explore open space, and here
for me is a new main artery.
Catherine, I like your image of a porous embrace. How do you see time
fitting into this living space of recursive structures? Could you say a
little more, please?
Still pondering....
:- Doug.
