I love Lise's list. Here's another set of assumptions...
 
Organizer: People aren't smart enough to make their own choices
 
OST: People know perfectly well what matters to them and will base  their 
choices on that.
 
Organizer: In order to get the results WE want, we must control the process  
and the group.
 
OST: Even if WE control the process and the group, we won't  necessarily get 
the results WE want in the long run.
