The Pros and Cons of OST?

Hi Lisa,
Thank you for your response - your words are music to my eyes.
Yes, I also have many happy memories of our international days
together before and during OSonOsinOZ.

The topic for the conference I described in my last email is:
"Practice Change for Sustainable Communities: Exploring Footprints,
Pathways and Possibilities".
It takes place in 2006.

To my knowledge, there will be no other OST presentation at this
conference, except the rotating 10 minute patch I've been asked to
present.
Apart from that, there will be "normal" conference papers, poster
presentations plus something originally called "Interactive sessions".
It seems these are now called "Stations of Practice" and may be less
interactive than planned.
Conference delegates will circulate past a whole lot of "stations"
where people will be describing a practice.
My "station" will be for OST.
Every 10 minutes I will prospectively have a new group passing by.

So that's why I am thinking of presenting a series of micro OST
events at my "station".
I'm considering opening the space for a minute or two just with the
principles and law...
then inviting 5 minutes of conversation on the topic of OST pros and
cons, hoping this gets recorded by the speakers.
(Why devote a whole hour or more to a topic when you can "do" it in 5
or 10 minutes? Just joking.)
Then the next group will wander up and I'll go again, opening the
space and collecting people's passionate responses to the topic.
Hopefully only people who want to respond to a practice will go to
its particular station.

Since most or at least many of the people attending the conference
know what OST is, by the sound of it, I might sit alone at the
"station" in a merry reverie.
Or, if, indeed, passions are running hot about OST, I might need
protective clothing against eggs and tomatoes.
I imagine not.
Perhaps it's better to have reservations about OST, if people have
them, expressed rather than lurking.

I am hoping to be able to incorporate some ideas from the OSLIST into
the pre-event paper.
Cutting and pasting sounds like an ideal way to go, thanks Lisa.
Cheers from our new temporary home (near family).
Love,
Allison.
