Ideas please for a different closing

Hi Doug,

And hi all, yes I have been sort of quiet lately but I am still around!

I never do a formal closing if there is another Open Space day coming - I prefer
to leave the Space open overnight. I only do a closing when the conference is
really over.

I usually let the talking stick or microphone go around the circle to give
anybody who wants to the opportunity to make a personal closing remark, but
maybe you have also done that before the standing-in-circle-and-turn-around
thing; I think the two go together well.

Another thought: since you are at an OSonOS, would it be an idea to post a
session on closing rituals to get you some more ideas? On the other hand, when
I am the holder of the space, I never post or attend any sessions, the most I
do is bumblebee a little in the background. So it might be in conflict with
your role for today.

An idea for a closing I have been thinking about but never tried, is to have
everybody pick up their chair and take it to one end of the room, where they
are then stacked. This act of physically breaking up the circle together might
work. The next thing might be to hand out brooms and vacuum cleaners ;-)

Have a good time Doug and all the others at San Antone. Weather here in The
Netherlands is great too, with beautiful fall colors.
