Looking for a GREAT OS business story

What a wonderful experience this must be: to watch it working as an Open
Space facilitator in your own setting.

Did you have a facilitator outside your organization?

Did they have already Open Space experiences?

In ieder geval: van harte gefeliciteerd! Ik ben benieuwd naar een interview
met een van de CEO’s.

Hartelijke groet,

Hi Peggy and all of you

(tried to mail you off list Peggy, is not working)

I was so incredible busy and just had some glimpses at the list.

The other day we had an Open Space for the management consulting firm I am
working with. More ore less 200 consultants, secretary, and other staff
showed up. We had the Open Space on the beach in a round huge tent ( I don't
know how you call it, it was a tent where normally clowns, elephants, and so
on do their acts). We had more tents for making the reports, for eating/
drinking etc. It was my dream coming true!

As a managing consulting firm we have had a few bad years, sizing down,
losing spirit and energy. And it really happened: in the Open Space we
found back our spirit and our sense of community. A few great actions have
been workerd out. It really does feel like magic, even for us here in
Holland ( we don't show our passions quite easily). And we have some more
199 or so counsultants who have seen the power and elegance of Open Space!

If you can use this story please let me know. We have lots of photo's and I
can arrange an (online interview) with one of our CEO's.

enjoy your day!!

Carla

Subject: Looking for a GREAT OS business story

Friends,

We are looking for a "knock your socks off" story of Open Space in a
business setting for the Open Space chapter in the second edition of The
Change Handbook: Group Methods for Shaping the Future. We know the
Rockport story, in which $24M from a new product resulted. We know the AT&T
story in which a group replanned a 9 month project in 2 days to meet the
Olympic Committee's invitation to move their pavillion to a more prominent
location. What's a new story of clear and powerful benefit to the business
and people involved?

The story chosen will be one of three opening the chapter on Open Space in
The Change Handbook. We're including a story of ongoing Open Space via
Spirited Work and a community story from Chris Corrigan.

So, if you have a story in a business environment that you think
communicates the power of OST, please let us know. As chapter author and
book editor, Harrison and I will have the challenging task of choosing the
story for the book. (Contact me offlist at peggy at opencirclecompany.com
<mailto:peggy at opencirclecompanay.com> unless you think the list would
benefit from hearing the story.)

thanks,

Peggy and Harrison
