Half-way thinking about half-way technologies

Hi,

An organization is a half-way technology. So is a community, a religion,
perhaps even a family. It strikes me now that perhaps my liver and kidneys
fall into the same category. I think sometimes we confuse ourselves when we
expect any one institution or technique to be everything, including the
meaning in our lives.

One thing I particularly appreciate about open space is that it interrupts
habitual social patterns and, well, opens a space for something new, or for
remembering.

For me, that's enough. In fact, it's plenty.
