Thanks a lot for this. It is a great start.
The reason that he wants to learn this is that his director wants  him to
redesign key processes to improve how they do their work (it's an  internal
treasury department).
His director feels he doesn't take enough of the peripheral issues  and
unintended consequences into account.
The Vanguard site looks interesting. Thanks for  that.
