OST meeting about "Creating balance at work and in life"

Thomas:

It sounds like a long day. I think that an extra half day for any kind
of work to get ideas out of the room is always helpful. It's not always
possible but the benefits far outweigh the costs in my experience. It
can be a real challenge to have people engage deeply on a topic and then
shift into a different mode late in the day. Sleep helps. I think your
oberservation about walking their talk is right on!

Joelle wrote about the Practice of Peace conference ending, which I also
found lovely. The space was opened again for folks to grab paper and
write their commitment and then post it on a wall. It gave everyone a
chance to speak, encouraged personal commitment and allowed for a little
bit of time speaking to the group without the closing circle going on
for a long time. I don't know who dreamed up that ending but it was
perfect for what we were doing, and might be the kind of thing you could
add to next year's conference! (There will be another one next year
right? ;-) )
