Peaceful themes....

Julie and Jeff -- wonderful conversation around releasing. Although I
have a daily practice of releasing (it sounds so easy, eh?-- I need
constant remedial sessions). With an OST event, once the sponsor is
prepared and often the night before the event, I make a practice of
releasing and letting go of all outcome. Last night we had 15 cm of
snow overnight -- when I opened the curtains this morning I started to
feel disappointment inside and practiced releasing that disappointment.
The event was not cancelled and I was blessed with only and half-hour
drive. And, to their credit 40 particpants made their way through the
snow -- some driving for 3 hours and stopping to push cars out of the
ditch to attend an open space meeting.

sense of release. Does OS have moments like that? If so, is it after
that
sense of release that you find yourself shifting to other needs and
concerns?

Julie, yes! It's a profound release when the first person accepts the
invitation to walk into the center and write their topic on a sheet of
paper. And later when the marketplace is in full flower and I say to
myself
internally, "they are on their way - let me go pick up some empty coffee
cups and tidy up a bit."

My image is, kind of, that I've been carrying them on my shoulders from
the
moment I accept the contract until these moments -- in that they have
put
trust in me that I will deliver them this strange thing called open
space.
(I'd love a less tiring image if anyone has one - but I do feel the
weight
of their trust.)

Now I am letting them go, and they are on their own, until I start to
think
about the closing circle and convergence, which are my invitation
regarding
how they focus their attention into the aftermath of the meeting.
