OS and Strategic Planning

Brendan --

I used Open Space last year for strategic planning for a local Catholic
Diocese. I think you'll find some posts about it in our OSLIST
archives.

Two weekends, 115 people, ages 14 to 70-something, from the Monsignor to
the teen in the youth group, 4 languages, and including convergence with
ritual, breathing and prayer.

I can connect you with those clients so you can talk about how they
marketed it within their own organization, how they fit it in to the
overall design and decision making process for the final plan, how they
disseminated the information and action to their parishes through
bulletins, prayer and matching grants programs. They're also happy to
be contacted directly by future users of Open Space who might want some
feedback on how the process worked for them.

Let me know - I'm happy also to throw some ideas back and forth with you
about it all.

Take care,
Lisa

G'day Folks

I've been asked by a not-for-profit (Church-based, welfare) group to put
forward a proposal to help them develop a five year strategic plan for
their organisation - they will need to have such a plan in order to
apply
for funding from govt and lotteries commission sources - I have
previously
opened a lovely week-end space for about 100 of their volunteers to
review
the vision of their founder and they all loved the experience - as did I

I have not used OST before as a process for strategic planning - have
any
of you?

comments and hints about how to sell the idea to them?

with thanks

Brendan
