Open Space Technology (OST) helps create organizations that work. Used in over 60 countries, OST enables all kinds of people, in any kind of organization, to create inspired events and meetings. Over the last 15 years, it has also become clear that opening space, as an intentional leadership practice, can create inspired organizations, where ordinary people work together to create extraordinary results with regularity. This workshop is about the meetings, the organizations and the possibilities that are emerging in Open Space, as we push beyond the immediate benefit of great meetings, toward exploring and creating the conditions we need for effective self-organization, natural learning, and sustainable high performance in organizations and communities.
A combination of informal presentation and real open space experiences will give all participants maximum opportunity to connect the principles and practices of Open Space to their own unique circumstances and issues. It's high learning, high play and high productivity. Come join us!
THE PROGRAM
Day One
We explore the issues and opportunities for the development of organizations of excellence focusing on the experience gained during Open Space Technology meetings.
Day Two
Converging the issues and opportunities uncovered in Open Space to move them to action. Exploration of the "nuts and bolts" of conducting an Open Space Technology meeting, drawing from that which we experienced together and that which we have questions about from previous experiences of facilitating Open Space Technology meetings or from leading an organization in which Open Space Technology is used.
Day Three
How organizations say they work and how they really do work. Organizational style, lifecycle, structure, process. Merging the formal and informal organizations. Identifying the critical ingredients that we must pay attention to in the Open Space Organization.
Day Four
De-mything the organization by identifying the "givens" and identifying the space where there is freedom for creativity, innovation, the full potential of the workforce released for great success. Developing the organization. Sustaining a high performing organization.
