ITS OVER WHEN THE BOSS SPEAKS...

this thread makes me think again about the non-convergence stuff i
posted about some time ago, which mostly appeared in the metanet topic
on non-convergence and non-training.

in that topic i proposed a day-three process of news (review the
proceedings), now (where are you now, closing circle), next (reopening
for next actions/meetings) and nuts, (nuts and bolts of what needs to
happen before next meetings).

when i followed this process, in a shortened form, at the end of an
evening+oneday event, i found that the last piece, the nuts/immediate
next steps piece *was* an actual return to the so-called 'real' world,
real work and that i could disappear then just as easily as i can after
the initial opening, when the people go to the wall and start their
first sessions. in this non-converging process, i found that all i
needed to say at the end is to remind them that they were already back
to doing the real work and still working in the spirit of open space.
then i just invited them to continue in that spirit/practice as long as
they cared to.

also, i wonder after reading this topic if the process i've outlined
doesn't also offer the possibility of inviting the sponsoring leader to
open the space for action on that last day, making the transition
back/extension into the 'real' world even more clear.

thanks to all for this thread. michael
