Naming matters

I use the term "collaboration" all the time -- but I do not use the term
"collaborator" (California spelling?) to describe the people involved.
Rather, I talk about "collaboration among" participants, members, staff,
etc.

Meg, I have also described my role as "consultant/facilitator" for a few
years, to distinguish from other kinds of consultants I guess. I don't get
many blank stares from people looking at my card, tho they may wait til
they are around the corner before they scratch their heads. My new "title"
is in my signature below. I love your addendum "complex situations"!

(Bernd, in the US our inimitable President Reagan used the term
"Peacekeeper" to describe the most horrible machine ever invented, a
missile with ten independently targetable nuclear warheads. I'm sure he got
the term from old western movies.

Which reminds me, these missiles still exist, and it's high time we turn
them into pruning hooks.)
