I think you're seeing it correctly.

Without straying too far from the topic Artur, all I can say about sites
like Strategic Forecasting and Jane's Defense Weekly (which I have also
been reading) is that they are not beholden to political
accountabilities, which means they can speak their minds on strategic
requirements.

Which isn't to say that I agree with them all of the time of course, I
just find this perspective very interesting because it is neither
politician nor pundit driven.  It's just really really knowledgeable
folks sitting around a table putting their minds to a problem.

Just like here.
