Hi all,

A very rich exchange, indeed. Intriguing to hear a plethora of experience!

My experience has been that people in conflict -- including myself(!) are quite often beginning to touch their own truth when in conflict!

Greetings! I'm new to this conversation, and hope I'm not repeating
something already discussed. Your conversation about truth is interesting
to me.

I spend some of my time mediating with people who are in conflict. It seems
to me that people in conflict are usually not in touch with truth. I
believe this to be true because in the beginning of my involvement with
people in conflict, the feeling in the room is usually one of anxiety,
tension, and fear. These feelings don't evoke a sense of truth. As time
passes, sometimes the feeling in the room changes to something closer to
warmth, understanding, and perhaps even humor and joy. In these moments,
the sense of conflict is gone, and I feel that we have all somehow
experienced a glimmer of truth.

In thinking about what this something is that feels like truth, I came
across this idea from A Course In Miracles:

"Healing is a thought by which two minds perceive their oneness and become
glad."

I think we experience truth when we recognize our connection with each
other, and become glad. Perhaps healing is what happens in the wake of
recognizing the truth of our connection with each other. Maybe that is the
only truth that matters.

Julie
