At OSonOS IX we will have access to a computer lab about 10 meters from the main
conference hall with 13 desktop computers each with a T3 Internet connection. It
is our intention to post the proceedings online as they are typed.

i tend to agree. A few of us have been talking about the idea of how to marry up
the event in Vancouver with participation online, but the jury is definitely
out. We don't want to try and provide for an experience online that would
replace the face to face. OSonOS IX will definitley be an event that takes place
in "meatspace." As for what to do in "cyberspace" we are open to ideas.

There's an idea. And I think that happened this year in terms of the "closing"
that took place online. I take it that the main concern is that having the
conversation happen in too many places means that the thinking becomes too
diffuse. Seems to me that the ultimate ""convergence" would have everyone arrive
back here at a specified time to move forward, but as always, I'm curious in
other's ideas.

Cheers.
