Let me clarify my point a little...
I like TMN, and I think that it would be a great addition to the resources that
are out there.  I'll use it.
I also like the Listserv, and I would hate to see it replaced.  It's my bread
and butter for OS discussion.
So, if we can do both, that would be great.  i know that I'll use OSLIST several
times a day, and TMN perhaps a few times a week.  Those of us that didn't want
to use TMN would still be in the loop over OSLIST and hopefully no one would
abandon OSLIST for TMN exclusively.  I wouldn't want to lose anyone.
As to your original question Murli, (and I guess I started this whole thing --
well me and Kelvie really...:-)) I say go with egroups if it means an accessable
archive.  That's really important to me.  My hard drive is only SO large...
