Spirit of the Organization:
Reflection on 15 Years in Open Space,
with Harrison Owen

It is now acceptable to talk about Spirit and Organization in the same
breath.  It is now possible to experience Spirited Meetings that are
self-organizing, surprising and productive.  Harrison Owen has authored
seven books and the latest, "The Power of Spirit: How Organizations
Transform" will be published in the next few months.  More importantly, he
has also given the gift of his discovery of Open Space Technology to those
of us who want to practice Spirited meetings and organizations.  This has
led to Open Space being used around the world in Brisbane and Berlin, in
Barrie and Buenos Aires.  It is being used in a variety of organizations:
for community meetings, conference learning and corporate transformation.
In his new book he explores further the implications of Open Space for the
organizations of the future.  In a time when we are exploring various large
group and whole system approaches, the role of emergent strategy and the
"chaordic" organization, Open Space provides a unique perspective and
practice.

This 1.5-day workshop is not a training event. It is an opportunity to
reflect with Harrison Owen on Open Space Technology and what he and we have
learned about its use for events and for ongoing organizational change.  It
will be time and space for conversations with Harrison and with the bright
and thoughtful people who come.

A portion of the meeting will include presentation and conversation with
Harrison Owen.  A portion of the event will be in Open Space with Harrison
as a participant.  Larry Peterson will be Opening the Space.
