OS with Children and Adults

I am going to do an OS at the startup charter school my daughter is
attending this year.  I have proposed inviting parents, staff, board
members, and students.  The students are 6th and 7th graders.  The theme
will be something like "What are the issues and opportunities to make this
initial year the best possible and build a solid foundation for our
future?"

Here is what I am looking for.  Has anyone done a similar event including
kids?  The administration of the school is excited to do the OS process but
if there will be a point they disagree on, it will likely be including the
kids.  Any experience out there will be helpful in responding to their
questions, etc.
