[OSList] Seminar from Sandra Janoff, January 2021

Actully, after having created a mind map around what the members of the
Planning Group collectively expect on the "Day after the Event" and have
agreed on the overall Theme of the event and had a break the next
question is more precisely:
"Looking at the mind map we created and the theme we arrived at: Who
needs to be part of the event so that our aspirations and ideas can be
realized, be acted on by us?"

This phase in the Planning Session is a bit of a reality check,
sometimes resulting in reframing the overall Theme.
Since many "actors" identified that need to be present also leads to a
discussion on the process of invitation. Often, it is clear that
different invitational interventions are needed. For some a written
invitation is perfect, others need to be talked to personally, etc.

Especially in schools that often asked me for helping them with an os
event, a spectrum of "needed" folks starts emerging that no single
participant in the Planning Meeting had in mind and would then include
several, many or all or even more of the ones I mention here:

Parents; Students; Teachers; Principal; School Secretary; Speakers of
groups provided for by the School Laws (parents, teachers conference,
student body representation); Janitor(s); Volunteers working in the Cafe
or Cafeteria or other functions; Caterer; Maintenance Workers; former
Students and Parents and Teachers and Principals; Teachers from schools
that sent students to the school (in a Highschool that would include the
primary school the kids came from); Business People that offer students
Practica in their businesses; members of the local school
administration; Journalists (local paper); Scientists from the
University or Teachers Colleges (where teachers get furthering
training); Neighbors (especially when schools with their outdoor
actvities constantly have contact with the neighborhood).....

Have a great day
