Hi, Tricia!

Your query dovetails nicely with something that came up in passing at WOSonOS, that we (at that event) tended to view “Proceedings” verbal/written. We had one session captured through Graphic Recording. We observed that gently offering alternative means of expression in Open Space might be useful, such as having resources in the circle’s center to lying about; such as huge boxes of LEGO®, drawing and painting and crafting materials, musical instruments. Perhaps an implicit invitation to movement, dance, and videoing could be incorporated.

For myself, I incorporate movement a lot in workshops. I overuse Constellations, moving to a place to express an opinion or an opinion on a range or scale. I’ve begun to leverage LiberatingStructures.com and similar to inject movement, such as between tables. Many have observed to me that people express things with movement or LEGO® that they’d never express verbally, though having done so, they often find the courage to verbally explain their movement or other creation.

I encourage you in this exploration; it can only help us all!

Marc

I see this work, the way that I approach it, as truly an invitation to open space within oneself and within communities through exploration of body and movement in a way that is liberated from form, function, expectation, or expertise.
