[OSList] help me find/remember a story?

20 years ago (more?) when I was doing a lot of Open Spaces in South Africa right at the time of the end of Apartheid, The chiefs and others would smile and ask me where a white man stole something like that. They introduced me to Indaba. Seems like it is going strong after all these (thousand) years. And Open Space is a new process? J
