[OSList] Angie Arrien

Dear Open Space friends,

I too am one of the many thousands who've been inspired and affected by
Angeles' life and work, and will miss her very much.

Here is another rich trove of Angie teaching and storytelling (beautiful
videos and transcripts) from the last few years of the Mt Madonna
Chautauqua gatherings: http://mountmadonnaschool.org/chautauqua/

Larry, warm congratulations on the birth of your new grandbaby. Last week I
spoke with Patrick O'Neill, your co-grandfather , and Angie's extraordinary
colleague and protegé, and commented that Angie had left us so many
treasures, some yet to unpack. He replied, "They're all walking on two
legs" (and doesn't that sound like something she would say?) All the ways
described by everyone in this thread, how you are living the teachings she
shared so generously, and taking her influences into your own work, are
striking and beautiful evidence of how true that is.

The last time I got to speak with Angie
a
few months ago she
said that
the work she was currently
willing to devote herself to had to be replicable and sustainable,
that her guiding question was "*will it make a difference in 100 years?*"
She was teaching in the new Community Studies Masters program at Mt Madonna
Institute, and fostering a lot of intergenerational work. Chris Weaver,
your delightful way of honoring Angie by sharing her story with your 3rd
graders sounds just perfect: "*I am thinking that by the fire I'll weave
Angie's journey into a little story for the kids, and end up with one of
her gifts - the four ways of spirit - which I have no doubt that the
children will understand...& those who find it useful will remember.*"

love, Christy
