[OSList] How do we manage time in an evening+morning shortish OS? (II part of:: How do we invite key and high conflicted people?)

Hi, Eleder -

What Kári mentions echoes some of my concerns. If the community is so
conflicted - would it possibly be better for them to have a (or a
series of) chance(s) to get together not for the outcome objective of
doing actions but - and again - because there are relationships to
form and build perhaps as they understand each other across
differences) - simply explore something they all care about (not
having to agree on it) and have those conversations and connections be
the sole objective for this meeting?

You do say 'high' conflict. Why not help them develop the muscles of
naming and walking towards and walking away and back into
conversations that matter - as part of the conflict transformation
process?

And: in order to decide whether action is a necessary part of a
facilitation design, I always explore with the client - is it action
they all need? or is it the client's wish that they would do action?
Are they better served by the dialogue itself? Is everyone capable
of / free to / supported to / resourced to actually define and do
actions if they name them? Is this the time for action or can this be
a part of a chain of opportunities and meetings that build
interconnection and future behavior change?

...and so on.

All these things are going through my head...hugs and all...

Lisa
