and in Scandinavia we had 9 and this year it transformed to Nordic OSonOS’
– so in all 10 – since the start 2002 – the first was organized to prepare
the WOSonOS we invited to 2003.

There have also been at least 3, if I am not mistaken, FOFO (Forum ouvert
sur Forum ouvert) in french in Québec within the past 5 or 6 years.

I haven't really been following the ning site, but I remember there being a
number of other languages making groups there. If we are looking for a
somewhat complete list, it might be useful to double check with those
various linguistic groups who may have hosted their own regional events as
we have done in Québec.

hey chris, good to see you here. just getting back to list mail.

ralph's january, 1996, philly event was my first (real live) open space,
where i first met you and harrison and linda and a cast of other important
open space folk. ralph's theme was "totally fulfilling business" but i
don't recall that he called it an osonos, even though that might have been a
bit of what it was. at that time harrison had only just hosted osonos3.

and the snow, holy cow... the law of two feet... i stayed with friends a few
blocks from the main meeting place/hotel and that distance became virtually
impassable. i was out helping dig out whole streets and somehow getting to
the hotel to see others ppts stranded in philly. i remember harrison
somehow made it out and home ahead of the storm and when those of us who
were left tried to get dinner at the four seasons hotel (one of the nicest
places around) all they had to offer was cold sandwiches.

being my first dip in the world of open space, my senses and memory banks
were on high alert. i think i remember dancing at some point, but i can't
say i have any recollection of you and harrison on the dance floor together.
which is just fine!

best for now,

m

Michael, I can't remember the year, but Ralph invited me to at least one
OSONOS in Philadelphia, though I thought it was two.

I believe it was in the mid or late 90s, but what I remember for sure is
that there was a horrible snow storm in Phillie and many of us had to stay
an extra day or two because we were snowed in.

Talk about self organization, the hotel staff could not leave either. They
were also staying in hotel rooms. Food and other supplies could not be
delivered so we worked together to make the best with what we had.

The reason I think there were two in Phillie is because I don't remember
going to Dulles (which might be an artifact of my aging brain). That matters
in my thinking about other OSONOSs because I also remembering slow dancing
with Harrison to the Rolling Stones' A Spider and a Fly...something I would
not likely have done at my first OSONOS.
