Dear Friends :)

Last week, me , Dr. Claudia Gross , Ramy Mortada
, Hala Faraj and Kazem Hemeida from OSE have facilitated our first Open
Space in Alex.

On May 14th, 2012, 58 people from Alex, Cairo,Assuit,
Behira and Sohag "The ages varied from 13 to 55" responded to an
invitation letter to the conference "Education - Step Forward" . They
gathered in Open Space with no more agenda than what is laid out in that
letter. An hour or so later, they had raised more than 45 major issues
related to the future of educational system in Egypt, and arranged them
into a 7-session working agenda.

At the end of the 3-day conference,
31 documentations of the conversation sessions were on hand, 25 new
project ideas had been born, a facebook group established and 58 new
friendships gained.

The working language was Arabic.

The OS was
organized by the Open Space Egypt in partnership with the Swedish
Institute in Alexandria, and Bridge Foundation.

More information will
be sent later, stay tuned ;)

BELOW SOME RECOMNDATIONS FROM THE OS :

"

should be bridged

language (to remain the first language), while encourage learning other
languages and increase the effectiveness and efficiency teaching of

 	* Expand self-financing
schools and universities (apprenticeship models)
