Hello space-making folks around the planet...
Below is an Invitation to a 'Wave Riders' gathering in Western Australia if you happen to be in the region - or know of anyone who may wish to join us.
This is a fascinating story and one I've been longing to host for a couple of years now...the time is right!
Let me know if you'd like a copy of the story - it has been published in InPsych - the Bulletin of the Australian Psychological Society, Feb 2008 edition.
Cheers Brendan
Hi Wave Riding and Open Space practitioners in WA
AN INVITATION
'Enhancing the Teamwork of the Sri Lankan Cricket Team - Using Open Space Technology and Appreciative Inquiry'
Professor Sandy Gordon, UWA
We invite you to join us in sharing the wisdom we've gained through our local network of 'Wave Riding' facilitators, consultants and Open Space practitioners - here in the West.
Our next meeting will focus on the role of OST and AI in contributing to the creation of a 'high performing' international sporting team. Sandy describes his use of these processes in partnership with 'a coach who believed in the transformative capacity of strengths-based approaches to individual and team performance consulting'. Would you like to hear about facilitating an Open Space meeting on the question of: “What Gives Life To Sri Lankan Batting, Bowling and Fielding When It Is At Its Best?”
We will hear some of Sandy's stories and then open a wee bit of space to generate new learnings and insights for ourselves and for our work.
Storyteller: Professor Sandy Gordon
Sandy is a Professor of Sport and Exercise Psychology at UWA. He is a Registered Sport Psychologist (WA), Fellow member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS),
Member of the APS College of Sport and Exercise Psychologists (CoSEP) and APS Interest Group in Coaching Psychology (IGCP). Accreditation also includes Advanced and Professional Development Executive Coaching certificates from the Institute of Coaching and Consulting Psychology (U. Sydney). He is accredited in Cultural Transformation Tools , Extended DISC, Health Coaching (HCA), Hogan, MBTI, and CAPP Realise2 assessment tools, and is a facilitator in Appreciative Inquiry and Open Space Technology.
