Dear Arno, dear all

1. Arno speaks about mediation as a way of resolving conflict, not about
meditation.
2. He would use OST for the annual conference of mediation practitioners.
The conference could be a mix of OST for all present and presentations about
their work and experiences by mediation practitioners, as I have understood
his initial post.
3. He is asking for the format - OST only, or part of the time OST and
another part presentations or a shared experience of mediation?

Arno, how long does the conference usually last?
Would you use OST to address some common issues, or for the exchange of
experiences only?
What is your personal feeling, what would you like most to choose as a
format?
I have experimented with mixes and with short OST events and have come to
the conclusion that it takes away some of the best parts of OST if we only
allow for half a day of it. If it can be a day, that is the minimum. If we
can have 2.5 days, that is ideal, especially, if you want to generate some
real engagement and commitment for projects etc.

With kind regards, Catherine

Betreff: OS and mediation

Hi everybody!

I have seen on the list comments from listers with connections to
mediation. I am intersted in possible overlappings of these two methods.
After expressing once my skepsis on traditional conference arrangement
(on a mediatiors annual conference) I was encouraged to suggest
alternatives. I suggested OS. This idea developed into search for a mix
of mediation and OS. The min. program is still dividing annual meeting
between time for presentations and OS. The max. program could be some
arrangement including OS and mediation practice.
So, what you think?

Arno
