Thinking about hosting a future WOSonOS? New to travel? Lessons learned papers

Dear Funda,
as to your 1st:
There has been a recommendation and suggestion by a group giving thought
to WOSonOS that WOSonOS moves around the planet with the idea that this
movement might go in the order of Europe, the Americas and "other" places.
In 2008 it was in San Francisco, in 2009 in Taiwan and this year it is
in Berlin (which is more European, Berlin or Istanbul?) so, continuing
this rhythm, the thought is that it be in the Americas in 2011 (there
seem to be some signals from South America) and in "another" place in
2012 (there seem to be some signals from Africa).
Now, this is really just a suggestion.
Decisions on where it takes place are usually taken at the WOSonOS.
Here, the idea is that at a particular WOSonOS a decision should be made
for the next two WOSonOS because of the long pre-work required in some
places.
At the last WOSonOS in Taiwan there was only a re-confirmation for
Berlin which had already been decided on in San Francisco in 2008.
This means that in Berlin a decision should be made for 2011 and
hopefully also for 2012.
In fact, what the folks in Berlin decide might be totally different from
the suggested procedure since it takes a sponsor for WOSonOS.
That sponsor has not yet raised her voice, neither for 2011 nor 2012.
Be prepared to be surprised.
Greetings from Berlin
mmp

PS: Since some of us in "Europe" want an OSonOS every year, the idea is
to have one in Europe in those years where the WOSonOS is not in Europe.
That event is called the "European Open Space Learning Exchange". Last
year it was in Paris. In 2011 it might very well be in Italy. In a
location that can easily be reached by boat from Istanbul.

If any others of you are thinking of hosting in future years please do contact me directly at lisaheft at openingspace.net (before May 8 or after June 8) and I shall send you this paper with wisdom of lessons learned from past Host Teams,
