OST + wiki = ProjectWiki

I've used wikis with open space with students and teachers. We used the
wiki for kids from different classes to have ongoing conversations with each
other about a joint project. They were exploring ways that nature creates
sculpture in their school forest and how they could have a conversation with
the forest. Many would post digital photos of a spot in the forest they
wanted to talk about and kids would jump in. They did fine and I did not
spend much time maintaining the site. They all had been working with wikis
developing other projects during the year so they had some familiarity.
They also had experience as one cohesive group working in open space at the
beginning of the year. We all thought it was great and it allowed them to
interact with classes they are not in. As art work is transformed by one
class and then another, often quite different by the time they were able to
return to it, this was great. I suppose the project might determine whether
wikis are a good fit.
