On indifference

Ralph, Thank you for this posting and the replies that are coming in. Lately
it had been quiet on the OS Board and I felt a loneliness in this silence
especially watching the events unfold in Haiti.

When I saw the word "*indifference*" somehow while I could intellectually
understand the thought process, it just felt sad because opening space,
holding space and closing space is so much about having lots of space in our
heart and trusting whatever happens.

In the same way that I felt lonely with the silence wondering how people
were, I also feel that words are so limited to describe our intention and
what's in our heart and soul. Silence then can be good and not worrying
about the words good too.

As I start this new year, I probably feel I will need to practice silence,
go inside and not worry so much about words and what they mean. Easier said
than done because conversations such as these in this Open Space community
(open, vulnerable, caring) are what drew me here and what have nourished me
in my work which many days requires a lot of courage.
