This news brought a pang to my heart, tears to my eyes and an instant
image of his warm face.
He was a wonderful wise man with a quiet zest and a deep presence.

He was an elder with tremendous energy and passion for Open Space.

I always marvelled that he made it to so many OSONOSes.

I am glad he did.

I have memories of a meal and pumpkin ale at the Quarterdeck in Camden.

Good speed and farewell Brian. It was a joy to know you.

Eric

Most recently we offered Open Space Training here in Melbourne, usually once or twice a year. In fact, we were trying to get dates sorted for this coming March. Brian would often come and have dinner with us here at Bells Beach. We'd share food, wine and stories. We travelled together to WOSonOS events in Vancouver, Goa and San Francisco, and hosted WOsonOS in the now destroyed town of Marysville. Brian went to as many OSonOs events as he could and always kept me up-to-date with all of the OS community shenanigans. I have so many great memories of Brian I don't even know where to start. I will keep you informed of details regarding the funeral.

"The difference between social order and disorder is 36 hours without food."

"Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants." Michael Pollan

Of course we can do this without chemical fertilizers. Study
after study has suggested it. We pee out enough
nitrogen to fertilize half an acre annually.

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
Some momentary awareness comes
As an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still greet each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
For some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
Meet them at the door laughing,
And invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes
Because each has been sent
As a guide from beyond.
  Rumi,
