Opening Space across the country

Sharon Joy Kleitsch, founder of the Connection Partners, and Linda
Sechrist, writer and editor for Natural Awakenings Magazine, call it
the “Stone Soup Listening Tour”.   Both are friends of Open Space,
World Café and Art of Hosting, two very adventurous women who are
passionately interested in what’s happening across the country around
slow food, slow money, permaculture, Transition Towns, Awakening the
Dreamer, Four Years Go, clean energy, green buildings and sustainable
cities.

Like Open Space bumble bees, they will be opening space and meeting
hundreds of folks as they embark on a 16-day tour across the Southern
US.  Their travels will begin in San Diego on September 7th and from
there they move on to Tucson (9/9), Phoenix (9/10), Albuquerque
(9/12), Santa Fe (9/13-14), Oklahoma City (9/16-17), Tulsa (9/18),
Little Rock (9/20), Memphis (9/21), Nashville (9/22) and Chattanooga
(9/23, ending in Greenville/Spartanburg (9/23).

They describe the purpose of their journey as “listening to stories
and engaging conversations, collecting and sharing the narrative
bounty from each community” as they travel along and contribute them
to the next pot.  The much anticipated result: “a truly savory and
soulfully good soup story that sustains all” – something to inspire,
to connect people and energize further action.

Through their various networks, they are connecting to regional
non-profits, business, government and media leaders to support what
they are doing in their chosen tour cities.  They are appealing to
folks in our OS community who would be interested to join and lend a
hand in opening space for these “delicious stone soup” conversations.
So if you feel sparked by the idea and live in one of the above
cities, you can contact Sharon Joy at Kleitsch at verizon.net.
