I would second my friend Phelim's wise and nuanced response here.  It's not a question of good or rubbish but of passion and responsibility.  Even a list of questions in the room that are disembodied from the askers is - aesthetically speaking - more about absence than presence.

An alternative might be to find a website somewhere that will let you set up a forum or a wiki where people can pose these questions and convene online conversations.  That way you'll know if there is real responsibility behind the passion and the questions will be there for the benefit of the conversation.  You could of course also have that space as a place for people from the event to post their notes and engage with others who can't make it.  I've done that dozens of times using instant blogs, nings, facebook pages and wikis.
