what web tool do you recommend for...

Thank you Danilo for your quick response.

I've set up Ning for two different networks I'm involved with. So far  
it doesn't seem to be the ideal for us. But perhaps I could do better  
at customizing it to our specific needs. I've also heard comments from  
others that they're not so wild about it. How about on this list, are  
people using Ning to make it possible for groups to start  
communicating before conferences? If so, have you been pleased or not?

Perhaps I need to do more experimenting with facebook and linked in  
for this specific need.
