Hi Olga,
great to see you on the list.
In German, possibly in Russian, too, there is a proverb around
evaluation or giving grades in school "The sow doesn't get heavier by
weighing it!"
Have fun on the list!
And see you in Berlin November 20-22 at the Program on High Performance
with Harrison Owen.
Greetings from Berlin

Hi Olga,
=A0
You are facilitating=A0very short ost meetings.=A0Here in Turkey, I am also=
=A0asked to organize ost meetings for 2-3 hrs. I facilitated 3-4 short time=
=A0meetings. As OST is the best and most efficient way to organize a meetin=
g, all of them were very succesful.
=A0
Then i facilitated=A0other=A0meetings organized by OST=A0which took longer =
time.
=A0
I think=A0 in one day OST meetings =A0( 6-7-8 hours), conversations=A0get d=
eeper, the frienship=20
increases. In 2-3 days OST meetings the probability=A0that people=A0get org=
anized and take action to make some changes together increases.
=A0
The subject of your=A0meeting, =A0=A0"Evaluating the Effectiveness of Train=
ings=94=A0 is quite interesting.=A0I guess due to the short time available,=
=A0only the cost pertspective was discussed during the meeting.=A0Given lon=
ger time, many another=A0perspectives would have been discussed.
=A0
Welcome,
=A0
Regards,

Hello everyone!
=09My name is Olga, I currently live and work in Moscow. In 2005 I=20
came across OST for the first time, while I working in a=20
telecommunications company. In 2006, I was a participant of an OST=20
meeting in St. Petersburg led by Raffi Aftandelian. Then I started to=20
use this approach in my workshops. I want to thank Raffi for helping me=20
see how OST and OS principles can inform my training approach. Also,=20
I’d like to thank him for information about OSLIST. It helps me=20
to acquire additional experience and find answers to my questions.
=09This year I have been using OST as a part of my workshops.=20
Usually I offer a three hours OST meeting towards the end of each two=20
day workshop. These short OST meetings are an opportunity for=20
participants to talk about those things around which they have a real=20
passion.
=09Also in August this year I conducted an OST meeting for a=20
corporate training club in Voronezh, a provincial city near Moscow. The=20
theme of meeting was “Evaluating the Effectiveness of=20
Trainings.” I think this kind of meeting is very important for=20
corporate Russian training sector. It was interesting to hear different=20
opinions about the evaluation of business education. Many participants=20
thought that many evaluation approaches are impossible as they require=20
lots of resources: time, money, people to do the work. And often the=20
evaluation ends up being more resource-intensive than the actual=20
training, be it short or long-term.
=09The meeting of corporate trainers lasted just three hours; the=20
sessions lasted for one hour. And the trainers spent the whole time=20
together.
=09Thanks for everything.
=09Greetings from Moscow,
=09Olga.
