Hi, folks -

Someone named Michael called me asking about the Open Space Learning
Workshops I am offering in San Francisco this year.

(by the way they are May 28-30, July 21-22 and December 17-19 if you are
interested in joining us - let me know and I can send you more
information)

My girlfriend accidentally erased the message, alas.

So if you are the Michael who called, do please call again, or toss me an
email at lisaheft at openingspace.net.

Thank you !

PS: A bow to Ms. Shobha, and she...knows...why....

Fascinating project!!!

=20

But, John, if I take myself as a model, who might not have read your =
podcast
summary as a participant due to a lack of time:=20

=20

Without an opening circle, how can you focus the energy and make people =
post
a topic?

=20

Could you consider using the 5-7 minutes you get to introduce OS (before =
the
keynote speakers start) for an introduction =E0 la Lisa Heft, where =
people are
led to remember all their experiences and expertise with the topic and =
you
ask a few important questions, so that their issues form themselves =
inside
them? If you then ask them to write those down, they have something =
concrete
to return to when they decide to join you in the OS.

My two cents =96 Catherine

hi doug et al.

thank you for your messages and ideas, Doug and Raffi.

here's the text, Doug:

I=92m John Engle, and I=92ll be organizing the =93Open Space=94 learning =
area at
STAREAST. What is =93Open Space?=94 Simply put, it=92s a meeting method =
that
allows people to come together to suggest and discuss topics that =
they=92re
passionate about. We provide the venue, and you provide the expertise!
Though the STAREAST program covers a vast number of software testing =
topics,
there is no way to touch on everything. That=92s where Open Space comes =
in.
It=92s a place where you set the agenda. Whether it=92s discussing =
something
more in depth or examining a topic that=92s not on the program, Open =
Space is
the place to convene. It=92s like an extended coffee break with a tad =
of
structure; a gathering place for you, your ideas, and your colleagues.=20

At STAREAST, you=92re going to have the best of both worlds: great =
keynotes,
tutorials, and concurrent session AND a space for YOU your colleagues to
identify and address what=92s emerging in real-time.
Look for Open Space on Thursday and Friday next to the Registration Desk =
at
STAREAST. See you there!

thanks again raffi and doug.

Wonderful inviting language you use.

I want to steal it. Is it possible for you to share a text version of
the script for your podcast?

As to what you call it, how about if you just use lower case open space
rather than the caps? Or "opening space?"
