Funda, thanks to you and all your colleagues who've shared your grief over this loss. Your words are a tribute to this man, who obviously had an enormous impact. Would that the entire world could learn from this experience. I know that I am not alone in being reminded of the loss of Martin Luther King almost 40 years ago.

the newspaper says hundred thousand people were there, there is a picture of the march at following web site of a newspaper

  http://www.radikal.com.tr/

This may sound like an advertisement. But everthing seemed so despirate that i needed to believe in people's power, reaction and common sense ,
i am glad to have seen a piece of it now and wanted to share.

Oh not a waste...not a waste. Hrant Dink opened the space for millions
with his life, his beliefs, his acts...and now with his death. Today as
we marched across Istanbul, tens of thousands of people, sometimes
applauding, sometimes silent and sobbing, the shift in the conscience of
people was palpable. Finally people of this land, Turkish, Kurdish,
Armenian and all the others gathered to honor one big man's life and
work and there are so many of us who cares, who says enough to this
  tragedy.

The shame and weight of this crime is in our hearts. Along with the
gratitude for Hrant Dink planted seeds of peace and solidarity in our
  hearts.
For sure one march is not enough, there is much more to do on our side.
I hope that this will be the start of reconciliation between the peoples
  of this land.

Today we were all Hrant Dink, we were all Armenian.

  Dear Nuran,
just returned, met Serpil there with her family!
It was a great wake! I think there were 500 people there, standing in
circles as in open space around a tree where there were pictures of Hran

and torches and candles...and some speakers that used mostly Turk
languages. I was touched. What a tragedy. What a waste.
It's so hard to say "Whatever happened...." in those moments.
Martin Luther King was mentioned, I just heard a speaker say his name.
I remember so well when he was murdered just a few miles down the road
from where I was working and living then. What changes since then and so

  much till to do.
Leaving on Thursday to facilitate an open space for 130 mostly women and

children on the topic of "Less government, more family!"...it will be a
  peaceful event...
  Greetings from Berlin
