Subject: describing open space

Dear Isa-I can relate to your feeling that open space is "opaque"-and it's
true: all the description in the world cannot

.....

I really appreciate the responses. Thanks.

I can see there is a lot here for me to get caught up with. My academic
background was linguistic anthropology. I have been teaching for the last 30
years and so I have some gut ideas about human systems and how they function
and dysfunction (and schools and such mostly dysfunction. )

I live in Istanbul. Turkey. I have been expat for about 20 years in the
Middle East. My last job was in Palestine at a "university" there. Most of
the past 15 years I have been integrating Interneting into teaching in the
Middle East. Right off the top of my head, in Istanbul anywhere, I doubt
there is any such open space I can wiggle my way into here. Especially as I
am divorced from institutional connections right now.

But after googling and surfing I can see there is plenty for me to digest
before I'll have to buy any books. In the meantime I'll lurk and see what
comes along and do some studying. God willing

Love and peace and prayers for peace. Thanks again it's really nice to get
so much response.
