Peggy:

Thanks for the response. I was wondering if you were out there somewhere.
I was about to respond to several of the other e-mails on their thoughts on
Strategic Planning, all of which were good. I was/am about to push on
those comments a little further. One of the curious observations to me was
that some responded to the question/comment about Strategic Planning, but
you are the only response I have received on the "emerging order" part of
the question. That is curious to me, and maybe even more deeply confirms
what I am struggling with as it relates to Strategic Planning--

Yes, we need to think about the future in a somewhat systematic way. And as
Harrison stated, when we think and plan for the future, it is an imprecise
map. (or something like that). But according to my experience and my guts
(I know this is a broad, sweeping statement), the way we do it depends too
much on the rational, makes assumptions, and makes the process lack depth
and soul. The best approach as one person said was to get the whole system
in the room, with which I agree, but even that can get stuck. (And yes, if
it happens, maybe it needs to). So how to do Strategic Planning in a manner
that integrates the depths of people, the entire system, and the world,
honoring all parts of the psyche, not just one part? How to create a space
so the insight into the futures can emerge or the emerging order can show
itself is key as I understand it.

Thanks,
Craig

Thanks for your responses.
