HHH is a good idea. Or we can make something like OSHH ( Open Space Happy
Hour), something like
"Stammtische through time and distance".

Hi all!
And thanks Lisa for your thoughts.

So, there are a number of services I'd like to offer for auction (the
proceeds to go to the Access Queen Fund) whether I make it to Halifax
or not:

1. a mini-workshop on how to make what I call Deathcorn, or since OST
I call Griefcorn. It is a very yummy popcorn simple snack. I call it
Deathcorn because it's not very healthy. Or griefcorn because if
you're dieting you need to work with the Grief Cycle to grieve your
not being allowed to have it.

2. a mini-workshop on how to do Hambone. A form of song and movement
that was used by Black slaves in the US. (maybe someone else can give
a better description as to what it is and its origins) And no, I'm not
Black, though sometimes people think I am (including Black people).

On a related note, I was toying around with putting up another crazy
message yesterday. And I thought I wouldn't put it up because it would
get me in trouble again. But your message, Lisa, made me decide to
write what I wanted to write (on a completely tangential note, Peggy,
I was on my morning jog today and thinking about you and World Cafe--
and there we are-- your thoughts about TWC. I'll be darned! And on a
completely tangential note, I can't tell you how helpful our private
conversation at Goa was for me! Thank you!)
                                        ****
A curious thought came to me yesterday. It's something of a Modest
Proposal. It's about stretching possible strategies for fun-raising
one's way to Halifax. I definitely want to be there. But, I want to get
there using a different strategy than last time.

My idea: to conduct a virtual HHH: Halifax Happy Hour.

For those unfamiliar with this institution, Happy Hour is that "dead"
time in a bar (3-5pm?) when there are few customers. Instead, to
attract customers, bars offer drinks at a special discount-- for
example 2 at the cost of 1.

During HHH, all of those who would are seeking to fun-raise their way
to Halifax, would meet virtually in a realtime environment (for
example, sometime in the next two weeks; we'd meet for 2-3 hours). We'd meet
in a
chatroom or some other forum, and interact with each other as if it is
already the evening of August 4, the first day of OSonOS. During HHH
we would share with each other how we fun-raised our way to Halifax
(as we imagine/hope the money came).

This would be a chance to share, perhaps, how we hope the funds will
come our way to go to Halifax. And it may give us more new ideas and
maybe motivation to do the many things that Lisa suggests in the
AccessQueen strategies for fun-raising list.

Anyone else who'd like to come to HHH would be more than welcome.

For me, HHH is another way of creating intention in my life, and ever
stronger because I'd be doing it with other people. Creating more
inner and outer space, more room for serendipity. I may be so
audacious as to call it a form of prayer. Living what you want in
life.

BTW, HHH in the way I'll be participating will be strictly non-smoking
and (mostly) non-alcoholic. I will probably drink several
non-alcoholic beers (I take it sliced and salted lemon) It's up to
others whether you want to order cocktails or smoke. I just don't
imagine that smoking or drinking do much for facilitator health...

During HHH we can each imagine ourselves in the venue of one's choice.
For some that may be a Seattle coffeehouse, a greasy spoon, a
McDonald's, someone's home, whatever.

Any takers? Or suggestions for an alternative (non-?)event?
I, believe it or not, am not a habitue of chatrooms and can't think of
a good forum for such an event. So, if there were any ideas, I'd be
very happy. I know that using OS Online software would be a very
logical tool here, but I want to make the organizing of this event as
simple as possible.

Warmly,
Raffi(osity)

p.s. did I forget to tell you that this message was brought to you by
the letter "H"?

p.p.s. Heftamania, i do like the Raffi wordplay. Keep it up!

p.p.p.s. Lisa, we have interacted so much on and offline, good-mouthed
you with Lena Marchuk, that I feel we have met already!

the fun-raised monies go to the >AccessQueenKing fund? Do we need to

number of interesting services that I could offer at auction. But at

Queen Fund if you state that in the offer; or it can go to you (some
people sell things to raise money there to help them offset the cost
of their travels to OSonOS). >Of course, I do hope you can make it so
that more of us can meet you and share what your ‘Raffi-ness’
(Raffiosity?) can add to our collective experience. But either way I
know you will be there in spirit! Lisa
