Absolutely! It is always about "those who care to come." Voluntary
self-selection is, in my experience, the only workable way. People "in
general" are an amorphous blob -- and in my lexicon "The People"
(capitolized) are those who have self-organized themselves around a common
concern. Now of course the way each one perceives that concern may be as
various as the people themselves. But the common concern (interest) is the
"strange attractor" which begins the process of alignment and self
organization. I think.

Jack said, "I recently played with the descriptive tone and intention of the
principles and law language a bit: When people feel free to talk about what
matters most to them, they will; When the right people feel free to join the
conversation, they will; When people feel free to do whatever they can, they
will; When people feel free to move on to new conversations, they will."
I like what Jack has said here because providing a state of "when people
feel free" is our job as facilitators.
To achieve that state we use the 4 Principles and 1 Law. Doing so allows the
"free state" to be quickly and effectively entered into. For me it is a
simple matter of following each with a quick story of how conventional
activity is opposite them and what that feels like. Bam! Done! Free state
created!!
Harrison I totally agree self organization is always about PEOPLE, but I
submit it only works when people assemble out of passion for the issue at
hand i.e., Common Interest.
None of this works without People AND Common Interest.
