how would you write an invitation to a global practice of peace

-I'm moved b y what Funda writes below - thank you.

This same conversation threads through the U.S. Partnership for the Decade of Education for
Sustainable Development network - has Steve Cochran introduced this to your group? If not, I'd
encourage you all to check it out at <uspartnership.org>

Also in case hasn't kept you up to date on his own leadership contributions, as Interim Steward of
the Partnership:
A uniquely American response to the U.N.'s newly-launched (January '05) Decade (etc), the
Partnership is an extraordinary groundswell of individuals, organizations and institutions who are
starting to come together (the Partnership juste began in March of this year) to share information
and support, and spark collaborative initiatives, in all areas of learning and life that resonate
with the "sustainability" vision.

Thus far we've used Open Space with federal employees, zoo and arboretum and aquarium leaders,
members of diverse faith communities, youth, and artists. In addition to generating a remarkable
array of shared visions and specific action steps, these gatherings have led to a new federal
network, a Living Institutions sector for the Partnership, an interfaith focus, a national Youth
Council, and initiatives to integrate the arts across the sustainability movement.

K-12, higher education and adult/community learning sectors are all planning Open Space gatherings
at regional and national conferences in the year ahead. We also hope to have one at the September
24-25 Green Festival in Washington, D.C.

It's a gift to have a tool such as this that resonates and furthers the values that undergird what
the Partnership itself stands for.
