Halifax: Advice for new international travelers

Jennifer, Masud, Judi, Alan and Kerry--

Thank you all for the sage advice. It will give us a couple more things to
do before we leave, but hopefully make it a more enjoyable and worry-free
time.

Any other advice anybody has for the neophyte travelers?
