Therese and all,

I don't know, but I sure would like to find out.

nothing wrong with asking them to trust... accept that then they go
down the road because you've said "trust me" rather than because
they've identified someting down the road that they are surely
wanting. we never know who's coming and where they'll go in open
spaces, so i don't think we can really say, "trust me" and guarantee
anything. what we can say is this is what we know... this is what we
want... this is how much we have to spend... these are the outcomes we
need to achieve... the things we want... the deadlines we're stuck
with... we can say all of the boundaries and then say and here is an
option... this much we can do... we can't say that 200 folks will or
should come... but we can say that we know of a place that 200 people
could fit and that would still be affordable if only 20 people came...
maybe a church basement or something, for instance... so in this way
we are always working with what we know can happen... not setting
ourselves up as assuring that anything other than all the most
important issues will be posted, addressed to the extent tey can be,
written down if there's time made for taht, distributed if so
planned... we can only plan and promise and ask folks to trust in
those things that we can actually ourselves take responsibilty for
delivering... so i try to focus on what i really can do, which is
darned little in an ost event, and try not to be the one leading
people into places because i've said "just trust me" trust the
process, it will all be okay...

my two cents. and now i'm broke. <grin> m
