[Hello, dear colleagues - I will be facilitating an Open Space learning
workshop this month in New York.  Thank you for passing this message
along to your networks and communities.  The workshop is hosted by
Columbia University's Conflict Resolution Working Group and participants
will include members of that group but this is also open to the public.
Perhaps I'll see some of you there!  If you or someone you know wishes
to register please see the information in the announcement (contact
Sayre directly) and if you want more information on what we will be

OPEN SPACE TECHNOLOGY TRAINING
sponsored by the Columbia University Conflict Resolution Working Group

Date: Saturday Feb. 21 and Sunday Feb. 22
Time: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Place: Jerome Greene Annex, Columbia University

Breakfast and lunch will be served.

* * Who is it for? * *
Students at Columbia with an interest in conflict resolution and a
limited
number of outside participants from the UN and non-profit organizations.
If
you're interested at all in conflict resolution, this training is for
you!

* * What is it? * *
The use of Open Space Technology has been effective for over 18 years in
a diversity of settings, cultures and countries. The method has been
used by communities working towards peace; tribal and governmental
leaders planning land use; community workers helping communities rebuild
and heal after times of war; etc. It will be facilitated by dynamic
instructor Lisa Heft who has over 29 years of facilitation experience
and has worked all over the world with various groups.

* * What will we be trained in? * *
The workshop brings together both those who are new to the method and
those who have experienced it and offers an opportunity to share your
learning and understanding in order to create and facilitate your own
Open Space. Experience an Open Space and discuss how to facilitate,
Coordinate and Communicate at different levels of society. Help
organizations or communities build on the action and momentum that comes
out of the Open Space experience

* * How do I register? * *
If you are a Columbia student:
Contact Sayre Nyce (sen2104 at columbia.edu) for a copy of the application
and bring it with $50 to the Center for International Conflict
Resolution (Room 1102) by 1pm on Feb 5th. Enclose application and check
made out to the Conflict Resolution Working Group in a sealed envelope
with your name on the outside and leave in Jenna Capeci's mailbox. SPACE
IS LIMITED SO REGISTER SOON!

If you are not a Columbia student:
Contact Sayre Nyce (sen2104 at columbia.edu) for a copy of the application
- complete and return it to  sen2104 at columbia.edu. We will notify you
where to send your check for $250 after receiving your application.

This workshop normally costs up to $1000; you are being offered this
phenomenal experience at a rock-bottom price!!!
