With many projects there is a stage where I find I must take the manager to
lunch and try to convince him or her that mess is exactly what he is looking
for, a sign that the project is really working.   Chaos theory can sometimes be
a tool--it provides what one of my teachers used to call a "theory base" for
what is happening.
